Mindfulness in Schools

Teaching mindfulness to children helps them develop awareness of their internal and external experiences. It also helps them to recognize how emotions are expressed in their bodies and to notice when their attention has wandered off.

Drawing on years as a teaching artist and curriculum development specialist, Dr. Bendix’s program includes imaginative, creative activities that support concepts within the mindfulness curriculum. This unique approach makes the material fun and accessible to students!

"Susan's ability to make mindfulness accessible and fun for kids is amazing!"

Principal, Loma Linda School

At-A-Glance

Mindfulness in Schools offers classes and trainings designed to support students, teachers, and school communities navigating increasing demands on attention, behavior, and emotional well-being. Each experience is shaped to the age, setting, and needs of the group.

Who it’s for

Schools and educational communities seeking to support student focus, emotional awareness, and well-being—while also addressing stress and burnout among educators.

Format

Offered as in-class sessions, staff trainings, workshops, or multi-week programs, and adaptable across grade levels and school settings.

What it's like

A guided, interactive experience that blends mindfulness, movement, and creative exploration. Students engage through simple, imaginative activities that make awareness feel natural, accessible, and even playful.

How it works

Attention and stress live in the body as much as the mind. Through breath, movement, and guided awareness, participants learn to notice internal states and respond with greater clarity—supporting focus, emotional regulation, and a more responsive classroom environment.
